Poverty rate, median incomes improve in WV

The census data holds some good news for West Virginia. Last year, the poverty rate went down and the median income went up. 

West Virginia is one of the most improved states when it comes to poverty – its rate improved from 18 percent in 2005 to 17.3 percent last year. That ranks the state fourth – behind New Mexico, Louisiana, and Mississippi.
