Scott Finn discusses China trade mission

Governor Manchin is back in Charleston after an eight-day visit to China. Manchin led a delegation of West Virginia businesses, primarily coal-mining equipment companies, on a trade mission.

He there there was considerable talk during the visit about investing in mine safety and clean coal technologies.But he says it will be a challenge for Chinese officials to follow through on pledges to close unregulated underground coal mines and address air pollution problems given demands to produce the huge amounts of energy needed there.

Scott Finn traveled with the trade delegation to Shanghai, Tayuman in China’s coal mining region, and Beijing. Scott spoke to Beth Vorhees about the trip.
