Fairmont will soon be home to the History and Culture Institute of Mining.  Thirty acres just off Interstate 79 has been chosen for the educational museum honoring miners.  It’s a project of the Miner’s Day Memorial Association of West Virginia.  The association’s president is Roy Lee Cooke.  Cooke is known as one of the Rocket Boys who grew up in Coalwood, West Virginia.
