CARDIAC research screens school children for high blood pressure, diabetes

Governor Joe Manchin is implementing a program that will give children entering kindergarten a comprehensive health check-up through his “Kids First” initiative. But this is not the first program that’s been working to keep school children healthy. For 10 years West Virginia University’s CARDIAC research project has documented the rates of obesity, high blood pressure and diabetes in the schools.
