Intersex fish in Potomac River still puzzling biologists, regulators

Intersex fish have been found in the Potomac River. Scientists have discovered immature eggs in the sex organs of smallmouth and largemouth bass, but have not been able to pinpoint the cause. The Department of Environmental Protection, the Division of Natural Resources and Potomac Water Watch are meeting to discuss fish kills and intersex fish in the Potomac. Pat Campbell is asst director, Division of Water and Waste Management with the state DEP.
