Problem Gambler director accuses WV Lottery of interference

The outgoing director of the state’s Problem Gamblers Help Network says there have been several cases of the West Virginia Lottery interfering in the network under the leadership of Lottery Director John Musgrave.

Mia Moran-Cooper made the charges Tuesday during a legislative interim committee meeting. Among the allegations: Musgrave and his staff forced Help Network employees to testify in favor of legalizing video lottery machines in bars, and tried to stop Help Network employees from talking to the media.Moran-Cooper also told lawmakers that lottery inspectors asked for the names of some callers to the hotline.Now Musgrave has called for an investigation. Scott Finn reports.
