Returning home with the WV Air Guard

For the past two weeks, reporter Anna Sale has been traveling with the 130th Airlift Wing of the WV Air Guard. She joined one group of airmen as they made their way across the globe to serve in Afghanistan. As they got closer to combat, many talked about the need to focus on their mission, and detach from life at home.  

Now, as another group makes their way back to West Virginia, that steely resolve is giving way to anticipation of home. About thirty guard members are scheduled to arrive back in Charleston today, and they’re talking about what they’ve missed and what they’re looking forward to at home.
