W.Va. roots run deep for Grammy-winner Tim OBrien

On this West Virginia Day, we hear from one of the state’s most accomplished musical sons. Last year, Tim O’Brien won a Grammy for Best Traditional Folk Album for Fiddler’s Green. He lives in Nashville, but he’s still very involved in West Virginia’s music scene.

He and his sister Mollie are scheduled to perform at Mountain Stage on Sunday at 7 p.m. at the Clay Center as part of Festivall Charleston. In fact, O’Brien has performed on Mountain Stage more often than any other outside artist. Reporter Scott Finn asked him why.
