Huntington businessman enters newspaper business

Circulation and advertising revenue in the newspaper industry are falling. Last week Gannett, the nation’s largest newspaper company,  reported a nearly 7% drop in advertising revenue in May alone. Gannett owned The Huntington Herald-Dispatch for 36 years until two months ago, when it completed a sale to Gatehouse Media. Gatehouse then reached a deal to sell the Herald-Dispatch to Huntington-based Champion Industries for $77M. Marshall Reynolds is the CEO of Champion Industries.
