Mine Seal Rule Debated

A federal remedy for seal problems in underground coal mines was debated in Lexington, Ky., yesterday. A Mine Safety and Health Administration panel took comments for more than three hours on its emergency temporary standard for sealing up mined out areas. A similar hearing was held earlier this week in Morgantown. MSHA officials heard from widows of miners killed by explosions and from coal industry officials.
