New state policy leads to more AP options

More than 300 state teachers are hitting the books this month to learn the tricks of teaching Advanced Placement courses. That’s more than double the number of teachers who usually turn out for these week-long institutes. That’s the kind of jump the State Department of Education was hoping for when it created a new policy mandating counties do a better job offering AP courses.
