Putnam General Hospital on trial

News reports first emerged four years ago about Dr. John King, the osteopathic physician whose brief tenure at the former Putnam General Hospital spurred more than 120 lawsuits. Now, a jury is hearing about King for the first time. But the civil case in Putnam Co. Circuit Court does not allege medical malpractice. Instead, lawyers are asking jurors to determine whether Putnam General should be faulted for granting King temporary credentials in November 2002. Associated Press reporter Larry Messina comments.
