A special Mountain Stage premiers Saturday night (Aug. 18) at 9:30 on West Virginia PBS. It was filmed in high-definition in Bristol, Tenn., to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the Bristol sessions – the recordings that were the birth of what we now call country music. The show includes descendants of the Carter family, Grammy-winner Tim O’Brien, and bluegrass legend Ralph Stanley. Scott Finn sat down with Mountain Stage Producer Andy Ridenour Thursday to talk about the show.
