A mother and son who are charged with the kidnap and torture of a Charleston woman were previously blamed for the shooting deaths of a Big Creek man and his mother.

In 1994, Frankie Brewster shot and killed 84-year-old Polly Ferrell – the mother of her live-in boyfriend, Bisha Tomblin.

When Brewster went to jail, Tomblin took care of her son, Bobby Ray Brewster. Everyone knew Tomblin as the boy’s step-father.

But in 1998, Bobby Ray Brewster shot and killed Bisha Tomblin, according to Logan County Sheriff Eddie Hunter.

“He killed his stepfather, and she killed her mother-in-law,” Hunter said.
