Prominent hospitals continue to allow smoking

By Clark Davis

A growing number of hospitals in West Virginia are going smoke-free. On Monday, Weirton Medical Center announced its campus will ban smoking later in the year. That means no more designated smoking areas; all smoking on hospital grounds is off-limits. All but one of the campuses of Charleston Area Medical Center will be smoke-free in April, and several more state hospitals are already smoke-free.

But you can still light up at some of the state’s largest hospitals, including two in Huntington and WVU Health Systems in Morgantown.
